The Emirates Palace Hotel debuted its first ever gold vending machine. The kiosk monitors the daily price of gold and offers small bars up to 10 grams or coins with customized designs. The idea behind the gold dispensing machine comes from a German entrepreneur, Thomas Geissler, who is known for his cash-for-gold machines throughout Germany after a debut at the Frankfurt airport last year.
The Abu Dhabi debut stands as Geissler’s first international debut for his “Gold to Go” kiosks. Geissler says the location of Abu Dhabi was because of its high-rolling atmosphere and traditional ties to gold in commerce.
