Tiger Woods is switching up the roles, instead of him devouring his opponents on the golf courses, he’s been called on to design a golf course.

The Golf Course is being built in Dubai, on a 13 million-square-foot lot, which features a luxury boutique hotel, a Guy Savoy restaurant and upscale shopping, will all be apart of a massive amusement park, called Duabiland, which will be built on the edge of the desert the Persian Gulf.

Tiger has been working on this project about a year-and-a-half and recently unveiled the master plan for the course and while releasing some information about the schedule it was under.

“Tiger Woods’ name brings enormous value to the project, and we are proud to share with him some of the key developments that have taken place since he reviewed the project during his last visit,” said project director Abdulla Al Gurg.

The project is estimated to cost nearly $1.1 billion, and press reports estimate Tiger might have been paid $20 million to design the immense golf course. The golf course will be filled with 197 mansions,villas, and palaces which will border the entire golf course. A limited amount of memberships, will be going to only 200 high profile people, giving them priority to the residents of the community. The 139,000 square-foot clubhouse will feature a luxury spa and golf academy.

The first phase of the project will be the landscaping of the golf course, followed by building phase for hotel and residential community in the second and third quarters of next year.

The Hollywood Palladium is on set to open it’s doors on October 15, after undergoing major renovations for more than a year. To make a big bang at the grand opening the Hollywood Palladium will hold a special concert with none other Jay-Z. The concert is set to make a big impact at the grand opening, Jay-Z will be backed by a 12-piece band, to fully take his performance to the next level.

Back in April 2007, the Hollywood Palladium closed it’s door for major renovations. The venue made major upgrades including an overhaul of the venue’s interior and exterior, a new dance floor, expanded concessions, upgraded restrooms, and improvements to the stage infrastructure.

The venue first made it’s grand opening back in 1940 with a concert by Tommy Dorsey Orchestra featuring Frank Sinatra.

“I’m honored to play such an iconic venue,” said Jay-Z in a statement. “Just as Frank ushered in a golden era, I hope this opening will mark the beginning of a resurgence in generation defining live music,” Jay-Z added.

Tickets for the Jay-Z concert go on sale Sept. 5 on livenation.com. Since Jay-Z has a long term contract with Live Nation, the company holds a long-term lease to operate, manage and exclusively book the Hollywood Palladium.

After much success with Tyler Perry’s House Of Payne. Tyler is looking to turn his latest film “Meet The Brown’s” into a sitcom. Cable television network TBS has placed an order for 10 episodes of Tyler Perry’s Meet The Browns from Debmar-Mercury. The sitcom is expected to air in January 2009. Perry will take on the role as executive producer and director and will occasionally write for the series.

Back in 2006, Debmar-Mercury offered TBS a 10-episode experiment in select markets that produced strong ratings, leading to TBS ordering a full-fledged series to an unexpected 100 episodes. This is the same deal with Meet The Browns, only 10 episodes will be aired as an experiment. If the show draws strong ratings than TBS will likely put it on board as apart of their line-up.

Tyler Perry made a statement about the upcoming sitcom.

“I am so excited to continue my relationship with TBS,” said Perry. “It has been so fulfilling artistically, I feel as if I’ve been adopted into another family. An artist such as myself cannot imagine being in a partnership with any other network.”

Hip-Hop Mogul Damon Dash has lost the licensing rights to sneaker company Pro-Keds, after owning it for 4 years. Stride Rite Corp. has reacquired the rights to the Pro-Keds brand from Dash.

Stride Rite Corp. made the decision based on aiming for a new image for their 60th Anniversary of Pro-Keds.

“We thank Damon for his partnership and efforts on the PRO-Keds brand over the past few years, and we look forward to re-launching the brand under the Stride Rite organization to maximize the brand’s full potential,” Stride CEO Greg Ribatt said in a statement. “We plan to tap our archives and re-issue the classic styles with fresh new design details, and to build on the brand’s vintage position with a new brand image.”

Pro-Keds is set to re-launch their new line of sneakers in November 2008 with prices ranging from $50 to $80. They plan on bringing back classic styles such as the Royal and Court King will be updated with new materials and colors and is also creating special limited-edition collections to celebrate their 60th anniversary.
